Marek Edelman, the last surviving leader of the Warsaw ghetto uprising, would lay yellow daffodils at the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes each year on April 19, the anniversary of the outbreak of the uprising. Edelman was tireless in his promotion of democratic values and tolerance in postwar Poland.

Statement of the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute regarding the launch of an open competition for the post of director of POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews

The Association, the City of Warsaw and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, have reached an agreement regarding the procedure for a competition for the post of POLIN Museum’s director. The competition’s rules and regulations upon which we have agreed respect the premises of POLIN Museum’s founding agreement and statute. They guarantee transparency objectivity, and the equal share of POLIN Museums three co-founders in the process of selecting the new director.

POLIN Museum hosts guests from the United Nations

Last Tuesday on January 29th, POLIN Museum hosted some distinguished visitors from the United Nations.
This included a delegation of permanent representatives to the U.N. from around 30 countries, and other esteemed guests. The evening was hosted by POLIN’s Museum Director, Professor Dariusz Stola.
