Creators and Benefactors of POLIN Museum recognized by the President of Poland

The creators and benefactors of the POLIN Museum were presented with medals by Bronislaw Komorowski, the President of Poland.

Among the honored were the leaders of the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute, donors, with Victor Markowicz of NAC, Jan Kulczyk, Corinne Evens and Tad Taube, as well as Waldemar Dąbrowski, former minister of culture and a great supported of the POLIN Museum.

Jan Karski Educational Foundation at Hannah Senesh school

A flurry of raised hands from fourth and fifth graders at the Hannah Senesh Community Day School in Brooklyn demonstrated an enormous interest in the legacy of Jan Karski, the Polish Catholic hero of World War II known as “one man who tried to stop the Holocaust.”

International conference at POLIN Museum, May 11-14

International Conference “From Ibrahim ibn Yakub to 6 Anielewicz Street” marked the opening of the Core Exhibition of POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.

Among the issues discussed were the transformation of the historiography of Polish Jewry in the last thirty years, the changes in the legal situation of Jews in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and their role in its economic life.
