Heartbreaking secret diary of ‘Polish Anne Frank’ murdered by Nazis to finally be published after lying in bank vault for 70 years

Renia Spiegel’s journal ran to almost 700 pages, beginning from January 1939 and ending when she was murdered by German troops in July 1942 after being discovered hiding in an attic.

For obvious reasons the book has been compared to the diary of Anne Frank, who was also forced to hide from the Nazis, but was eventually found and sent to a death camp where she died.

(JTA) — A U.S. Jewish foundation honored Polish non-Jews who rescued Jews during the Holocaust at an event in Warsaw.

Some 30 rescuers in their 80s and 90s attended the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous ceremony Sunday at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jewry.
